The 105mm M456 HEAT-T was the standard shaped-charge round for the M68 105mm gun — the main armament of the M60 Patton and the original M1 Abrams. Instantly recognizable by its long spike-nose standoff probe and fin-stabilized boat tail; the Cold War tank round.
Offered in three models: the original M456, the improved M456A1, and the developmental M456E1. Full 1:1 scale replica projectile, 100% 3D-printed plastic.
- Finished: painted and stenciled in the classic black HEAT scheme, ready to display
- Unfinished: raw print, prep and paint it your way
From the data sheet — TM 43-0001-28
- Designation: Cartridge, 105 Millimeter: HEAT-T, M456 series
- Complete round: 48 lb, 39.6 in — gun: 105mm M68
- Warhead: Composition B shaped charge (2.14 lb) behind a funnel-shaped copper liner
- Fuze: PIBD M509A1 — piezoelectric element in the spike nose fires the base-detonating fuze on impact
- Performance: 3,850 fps muzzle velocity, 8,200 m maximum range
- Scheme: black with white markings and yellow band — the scheme our Finished variant wears
- Spotting the models: the M456 had no cartridge-case liner, the M456E1 added a wax-coated cloth liner, and the M456A1 covered it in mylar film — with projectile bodies made after August 1967 fully enclosing the base fuze
100% PLASTIC. FAKE. INERT. Contains no metal parts and no explosive — a display prop for collectors, tankers, and reenactors. Not a toy; not for children.
